20 July 2005Sports History
I am the rugby league correponded for the Irish Independent and I have a lot of dealings with 2 of your own and came across your fabulous site but was a little surprised not to see any report on the fact that these 2 great sportsman were not in anyway mentioned in any form on the fact that they created history in Irish sport and maybe world sport. On the 3rd of July at Odsel Stadium, Bradford, England, an Irish Rugby League team was lead out by captain Simon Manuel which included his son Joseph which is a first for the four nations and maybe any rugby league international to include father-son in its line-up. Simon Manuel led his team to a first ever victory by any Irish League side on English soil and his son earned a Player of The Match award. I am sure with this information you will pay credit where credit is due to two of the most amazing sportsman certainly in Ireland at this time. I believe they hail from Dunedin or Christchurch and know they are very proud of who and what they are, congratulations on this wonderfull site.
